Sunday Stillness – Change

Sunday Stillness – Change

columbine-Bill-Weaver

Each year around this time we leave our community in Canada and head to the States. We winter in Arizona. We have developed a community here as well. But it is always hard to make the changes. Besides the jet lag – I miss family, friends and my activities.

But we know it is good for us to be here – and God led us here. So we enjoy every minute.

But I am so thankful that God never changes.

And our God – our Father, Son and Holy Spirit do not change.

It is well for us that, amidst all the variableness of life, there is One whom change cannot affect; One whose heart can never alter, and on whose brow mutability can make not furrows. – Charles Spurgeon.

Today is Sunday Stillness.

Do you have a Scripture that spoke to you this week? Please link below. If you post to Twitter use #sundaystillness and @authorjaniscox.

I would love it if you would subscribe to my blog. See the sidebar to enter your email address.

Read the Sunday Stillness rules if you are new here.

I would appreciate if you would link only about God’s Word. If you have a linky party that’s okay if it is about the same thing. Please no sales or prizes. I want this to be friendly but I must ask you to abide by the rules. Others want to read God’s Word – and that is what I would like the links to be about. I must take down the links that don’t follow the rules. Thanks so much.

  1. Perfect timing as we are in the midst of a major move as well. I have never done the winter summer switch but being so far from family of all ages, I’ve done more traveling in the last 7 years than my whole life put together, I think. And I can so relate. But I’m joining with you in praising God that no matter what changes – or how hard the changes are – HE never changes and is ALWAYS in control. Blessings and thank you again for the sweet encouragement.

    1. Hi Kaye,
Thanks for the comment. Yes – change makes things different – but God is good all the time. Meeting new people and spreading the Good News.
      Blessings,

      Janis

  2. It sounds very nice to travel to South for the Winter. Yet at the same time it surely is a change to say goodbye to the Family and friends … and vice versa, when heading back to Canada. Having an unchangeable God is a comfort and a solid base for our journey … You write it so beautifully in this post! Blessings to your journey!

  3. Ah, the difficulties of change. Yes, I understand. Last year, my husband and I moved from where I had lived for almost 29 years. I left family, friends, familiar places – and it’s been very, very hard. We moved to a small mountain community, which is WAY different from the old suburban routine that I had grown so used to. I know God called us to move, but sometimes I wonder…

However, through it all, HE has remained STEADFAST. And for that, I am so grateful. His plans and purposes are and will be accomplished, even if I don’t see it right now.

    GOD BLESS!

    1. It’s good to always have a friend – Jesus, no matter where we go. We moved from a city to a small town 10 years ago. Now each year we go for 6 months to the south. So new adventures each 6 months. But putting down roots in both places. Sure does give diversity.
      Blessings,
      Janis

  4. I was just struck with the thought that I’ve changed so much in the last 5 years, yet our gracious Lord never changes! Powerful. Thank you for sharing this! Have a blessed Sunday and enjoy your time in AZ!

I love to connect with you.
