WEDNESDAY’S WORD – Trust

Wednesday’s Word – Trust

In Wednesday’s Word I hope that we can spread His Word around the world one word at a time. Please link below with your thoughts from God. Or leave them in the comment section with your link.

There are times my mind screams why God? Then in the next instant He shows me – why.

This past week a friend lost her husband suddenly. All of this seemed unreal. My husband and I had just met them. We were planning on getting together again but plans kept changing and then poof – he was gone.

But what I did see was God in action – in a family of faith.

I saw people who leaned on God, who prayed as a family, who stood on the Word of God, who exemplified Christ in the darkest of dark. They shone the light of Christ for all to see.

They lived and breathed His Word. They poured all their energy into seeking God, not reasons, not anger, not questions but praising Him and seeking His Presence.

Jesus said:

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33 NIV).

This family showed they could glorify God in the middle of the worst times. Their light shone brightly through the dark. That kind of trust is supernatural: a production of an Indwelling Spirit. (Jesus Calling)

Yes that family showed they could trust in God no matter what.

I love this song: Light Will Shine by Hillsong United.

The words are so meaningful:

Salvation rise
As we sing of Your freedom
We leave the past behind
As we look to Your kingdom

You bridge the great divide
Between our hearts and Your glory
Our shame dissolved
In the depths of Your mercy

We are devoted
We are devoted to You

Your light will shine in the darkness
Your light will shine in the dark
In the dark
Woah
We are Yours

We fill the open skies
With the sound of Your praises
Our future lies in the hope of our Saviour

It’s Your love
Your love
Woah woah
It’s Your love
Your love
Woah woah

  3. I love that even when we don’t understand things that are going on in our lives, we can trust that God has a purpose in them. He has proved that to be true time and time again! He has a plan and we are blessed to be part of it!

    1. Tracy,
I love how God leads us to the people He wants us to meet and the words He wants us to hear. Keep that word TRUST in your mind. Last year I really needed to know that and He was faithful in giving me that word.
Look forward to linking on Winsome Wednesday.
      Blessings,
      Janis

    1. Hazel,
Oh will I have questions – you are so right. But for now, yes, trusting in Him leads to peace and joy even in the hard times.
Happy to find more people writing for HIm.
      Blessings,
      Janis

  5. Janis, I’m so sorry for the loss of your friend. At times I’ve wondered how I would react if the Lord were to suddenly call my husband or one of our children home. I pray that I, like this dear family, would TRUST Him completely… I’m so thankful for our God who never leaves us or forsakes us.
    Blessings to you ~ Mary

    1. Mary,
Thanks for your kind words – I know exactly what you mean. We say we trust – but then we need to follow through – and trust Him completely.
      Blessings,
      janis

    1. Thanks Brian,
The family are suffering greatly – trouble sleeping etc. But their faith is outstanding and really shows how God can comfort in the midst of darkness.
      Blessings,
      Janis

I love to connect with you.
