ACHE – Five Minute Fridays

I have decided to continue this Friday writing for 5 minutes. Linking onto The Gypsy Mama with word is ACHE.

Here are the rules:

Around here we write for five minutes flat on Fridays.

We write because we love words and the relief it is to just write them without worrying if they’re just right or not. So we take five minutes on Friday and write like we used to run when we were kids.

On Fridays we write like we believe we can fly. Won’t you join us? (<—Tweet this!)

1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. Please visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments.

So here I go:

Ache

Doris Read - 1917-2012

The word ache can mean many things. At this moment I think I am free of aches. My bones, my back, my nose and really – all of me feels okay. My spirit is in great shape and I feel joyful.

A month ago I ached. My Mom passed away last month and my heart filled with achiness. Her loss to me, I know, is joy for her and that blesses me tremendously. I also ached for my kids, my husband, my sister and her family, her sister and all the other people who knew her well.

My Mom, ever peaceful, ever joyful, always made me feel attached. I knew she was a phone call away. I loved her smile, her kindness and her love. The ache is the emptiness I feel now that she is gone.

Time heals and as our family remembers her, we smile, we laugh and we cry. My sister and I have each other now as “members of our family”. We are the matriarchs. We “hold things together”. But the greatest One of All “holds everything together” and that brings great peace to my heart. He is in the healing, the restoring, the joy and the peace of this life here on earth.

Praise Him for always being there or here.

To all of those who ache for some reason – look to Jesus. He is our All in All.

Time’s up – 5 minutes goes quickly.

    1. Heather,
I tried many times to write a comment on your blog Fruit Salad Please. It kept saying I didn’t write the words correctly. So here is my comment.

Thanks for visiting A Better Way.

Lovely post on the cleansing and freeing of our souls.
