FIVE MINUTE FRIDAY – Broken

Five Minute Friday – Broken

A Broken Spirit

This entire week has been reminding me of what I was like before I surrendered to Jesus.

I wrote a post on Wednesday about Transformed – a poem I had written during my walk, remembering how I felt – broken. My word was Empty. It means the same. Unfulfilled. The same.

Broken means to come without any preconceived notion of being fixed.
I can’t do this on my own. I need a Saviour. (Tweet this)

And He came – into my life, filling all the nooks and crannies. Helping me dump all the fears, worries, self-consciousness. Making me whole.

He continues to mend me, and prepare me for my eventual meeting of Him. Sometimes being broken hurts, a lot. Sometimes the glue doesn’t hold and it needs mending.

Broken is what I am. I won’t be completely fixed until Heaven. But during the mending stage I am learning, growing and getting closer and closer in my relationship with God.

The first song I heard that spoke into my heart and started to mend my soul was Hungry (Falling on my Knees).

Thinking much today about what God did for me. Broken for me. Body and Blood. For us. He did all of this for us. Let’s accept it and surrender.

Time’s up. What do you think of when you think of the word BROKEN?

1. Write for 5 minutes flat for pure unedited love of the written word.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in {you can grab the button code in my blog footer}
3. Go leave some comment props for the five minute artist who linked up before you {and if you love us, consider turning off word verification for the day to make it easier for folks to say howdy}

It’s a great way to catch your breath at the end of a long week.
