FIVE MINUTE FRIDAY – Cherished

Five Minute Friday – Cherished

Cherished

It’s Friday all ready. Where did the week go? I am linking into to the word of the week from Lisa Jo and this week the word is “cherished”. Five minutes to write. And two minutes to paint – as you can see the wet paint.

As I ponder about this word so many things come to my mind. My family and my family who have passed on; my love of life in general and all that it encompasses.

To cherish: To treat with affection and tenderness; hold dear

But I have to say that Jesus tops the bill of whom I cherish. I hold Him so dear that all of me desires Him. My love for my family and others springs from my love of Christ. He teaches me how to love and how to accept the foibles of others but still love them.

The Bible – today’s JOY DARE is to find 3 gifts from God’s Word – I cherish His Word because it tells me so much about me – it stretches me, guides me and holds me up in tough times.

Holding on to Him brings me closer to my family as I pray for them. So I cherish prayer. And I know too that this love I have for Him is reciprocal – because it tells me in Scripture:

“Cast all your anxieties on Him for He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7 NIV).

Can’t beat that – can we. He cherishes us. Each one of us – no matter who we are or what we have done. I love that. Don’t you?

TIME’S UP

I would love to hear your ideas on the word CHERISH or what you think of my ramblings today.

For those who link to Friendship Fridays – please read about me at Janis Cox – Author and Illustrator. And for the question – whose autobiography would I like to read – I would like to read Jesus’ autobiography – wouldn’t that be awesome?
