How Does Your Garden Grow?

My Flowerbed: Scribble Picnic

This week on Scribble Picnic the prompt is “flowerbed”. We are away on holidays so I did a quick sketch and watercolour pencils painting of a few of the flowers in our flowerbed before I left.

This year our plants have suffered from so much rain. But still my garden grows. My vegetable garden isn’t doing as well. Beans and kale are great. But alas no tomatoes – way too wet.

But there’s always next year.

How does your garden grow?

  1. Hope your holiday goes well and you get to return in time to do ourthe “fill in the blank” which starts with an “X” touching the corners within a square! I wonder what you would/will do for that? 🙂

Your garden is surviving and some even thriving no doubt, but, no, no tomatoes! but the ones you show are colourful too …as you like! 🙂 As for your question: we rent and not owning the home or yard are not at liberty to plant yachting.

  2. We have had too much rain as well, but the worst thing that happens is I have to mow my lawn more often. The flowers, on the other hand, seem to be doing well and the tomatoes abound. Your flower garden is lovely … I love cone flowers and especially love seeing them growing in a prairie. Lovely art, Janis …

  3. Sadly, our vegetable garden is all but non-existent this year. Only a couple of tomato plants that went in late. Your flowers look lovely. Such great inspiration photos too!

  4. I hope you are having a lovely holiday, Janis. We usually have the opposite here… not enough rain. You have a pretty garden of flowers but unfortunate that the tomatoes have suffered. I always thought they liked a lot of water…maybe different climates. Nice take in the theme this week.

  5. Lovely flower bed. Hope you are enjoying your holidays. We usually have the opposite problem here, everything is perishing from heat or drought by June.

I love to connect with you.
