How There is Power in Scripture

So God raised him to the highest place.
God made his name greater than every other name
so that every knee will bow to the name of Jesus—
everyone in heaven, on earth, and under the earth.
And everyone will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord
and bring glory to God the Father (Philippians 2:9-11, NCV).

As I wrote this Scripture out in my journal on August 17th, I noted that there was something powerful about writing out Scripture. The words sank deep into my soul. I shouted to myself “every knee will bow”.

Yes – Jesus will make Himself known to all. (tweetable)

Yes – every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. (tweetable)

Then I chose a passage in Isaiah.

Now this is what the Lord says.
He created you, people of Jacob;
he formed you, people of Israel.
He says, “Don’t be afraid, because I have saved you.
I have called you by name, and you are mine (Isaiah 43:1, NCV).

Oh my – the word “chosen” – we have been chosen. Doesn’t that resonate deep within your soul? It does in mine.

As I continue to write out Scripture every morning I feel the power of the Word. Sometimes the passages become more familiar. Sometimes I try to memorize them. But as I write them out they become part of me.

Prayer:

Thank You, Lord, for Your Word. It is mighty and powerful. I feel awed that the words in our Bible speak to me with such power. I consider it a privilege to have been chosen. You pursued me and I heard You call. Thank You for Jesus in Whose Name I pray, AMEN.
