How To Walk with Jesus

How to Walk with Jesus

by Janis Cox

Psalm-37-4

One day this past week I had no pressing work or activities; my husband had gone for a couple of days to visit family; I decided to venture into town to see where God would lead me.

Whew! What a wonderful time. Not only was the day perfect, sunny, warm and beautifully coloured, but I watched as God led me where He wanted me to go.

I became aware of every second. I watched for what He was doing.

First I met someone who wasn’t supposed to be in town until the next day. We were able to talk some business and had a good time.

Then God led me to have an inspired idea of how to sell my books and cards and give to a charity at the same time.

God helped me find needed equipment for the charity.

God led me to pray for someone. (That was my highlight.)

I met someone I hadn’t seen since the beginning of summer; someone new to town and who had purchase a book from me. We had a delightful talk when we remembered each other.

God was in each conversation.

My steps during those couple of hours felt light, my heart felt joyful and my smile showed my joy.

Lately I had read about bloggers needing time away from blogging and how burn out is happening.

I had started to take off one week out of seven in my other blog, He Cares For You. Last time I didn’t need to. And this blog, UTCOP, has been running for 3 years straight  – non-stop. (That shows where God’s priority lies, doesn’t it?)

Why?

I think it is:

  •  I take time for God.

Jesus is my Inspiration

  •  I cry out to Him

Jesus is my Helper.

  •  I listen to the Holy Spirit

Jesus is my Guide.

If you are feeling low, stressed, angry, hurt, confused, tired, hungry:

Cry out to Jesus.

then STOP

then LISTEN

and then be AWARE of what He does and is doing around you.

Read this Psalm – Say it slowly, one word at a time. The emphasis is mine.

Trust in the Lord and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him and he will do this:
He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,
your vindication like the noonday sun.

Be still before the Lord
and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when people succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes (Psalm 37:3-7, NIV).

Prayer: (My prayer today is based on Philippians 4:19)

May God meet all our needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. May we learn to trust Him, delight in Him, commit to Him and be still before Him. We pray this in the name of Jesus. AMEN.
