Into His Presence Anytime

There are times when we can be weighed down with situations in our lives, loved ones who are ill, wayward children or financial problems; and many other troubles that may come upon us. The thought is coming to me concerning Horatio Spafford the man who lost his family in a storm at sea and upon hearing the news immediately entered into His presence and there found comfort in it. He took up his pen and wrote that most moving of hymns, “It Is Well with My Soul.”
Like the sons of Korah who wrote in Psalm 46:1, “God is our refuge and strength an ever- present help in trouble,” Horatio Spafford found refuge from the terrible storm that had assailed him.
I have many praying friends, friends who embrace this truth. We phone or text each other with situations that need to be taken to the Father and we pray immediately. How comforting to know, because God is omnipresent and omniscient, we can enter into His presence anytime. We don’t have to wait in line. Our God waits for us to come to Him, He longs for us to commune with Him, and He listens and acts on our behalf. What an awesome thought. What an awesome God.
Prayer: Our most Dear and Gracious God, when troubles hit, may we remember that You are waiting for us to come to You, that You long for us to cast our burdens at Your feet. Thank you that You are always, always there for us. Praise Your Holy name. Amen
