Podcast for Hope Stream Radio – How To Make God’s Word Living and Active

Hebrews-4-12

As you can see from my posts this week, my mind has been focused on learning about making God’s Word become more living and active in my life. The verse of the week is Hebrews 4:12.

For the Word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

I wrote that by memory so if you see any error please tell me. Tonight I noticed something else – what is the importance of the little words, “for”, “any” and “even”?

My Thoughts:

“For” I think means “because”. The whole conversation before this verse is about hearing God’s word, and entering into a rest with God.

Today if you hear His voice – be ready to listen, because God’s Word is living and active.

“Any” seems to mean “every” or “all”.

“even” seems to mean “as far as”

So we have:

When we hear His voice we need to listen Because God’s Word is living and active. Sharper than every double-edged sword, it penetrates as far as dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow.

To me it sounds very deep and as I said on Sunday “to the quick”.

Thanks for teaching us the importance of memorizing God’s Word. I’ve started to memorize Hebrews 4:12. Hope and pray that at my age, it will stay in my memory for a long time.

A spelling error I noticed when you wrote down the memory verse. Instead of reading dividing,it reads diving. Because you asked, I’m pointing out the error.

      Sulo,
I am so happy that you are joining us in this challenge. I pray for the same thing – that His Word will stick to my brain. Thanks for the good eye of the spelling. I really appreciate it.
      Blessings,
      Janis
