SUNDAY STILLNESS – 1 Timothy 6:11

Sunday Stillness – 1 Timothy 6:11

Watercolour by Janis (Feburary 2013). Prints are available by emailing Janis.

We have many rabbits in our community in Arizona. Our little dog, Snowball, loves to chase them. They know to flee from her and they do. When you talk about scampering rabbits those little ones fly across the lawns and into the bushes trying to hide.

Today’s Scripture tells us that we too must flee from things that will harm us. Do you know what is harmful to you?

Today is Sunday Stillness – Do you have a Scripture that spoke to you this week? Please link below. Comments always appreciated. Read the Sunday Stillness rules if you are new here.

  1. Amen, Janis! May we flee from temptation and resist the devil. We can’t outrun him, but he will flee from the sword of God’s Word! Thanks for the lovely painting & post & for hosting, & God bless!

    1. Laura,

    1. Geneva,
Thanks so much. God is blessing me with seeing to paint… after much work over the past years … it is making my painting such a pleasure.
      Blessings

  2. John 4:14 “whoever drinks from the water I give them, will never thirst…” came to me in my twilight sleep and resonated so much because I love the woman at the well story, how Jesus let her know that he KNEW her and how she believed he was the messiah…

    1. Margaret,
So happy that you are listening to those quiet thoughts of God and how Scripture is becoming part of your every breath. Soldier on. Flee from anything that is not of God. “Be still and know that I am God.”
      Blessings to you this Sunday,
      Jan

  3. Hi Janis! 🙂 I just adore your illustrations!! I think they are so colorful and full of life 🙂 Yes, may we flee from harmful things and pursue righteousness, faith, and love! Thanks so much for the link-up community, have a blessed day!!

    1. Amanda,
You made me have a big smile this morning. I am reading Experiencing God and today’s lesson was on looking to the past to see how God made a spiritual marker. My love of painting is now one of those spiritual markers. He then talks about using that marker to make decisions for the future. So I thank you for your encouragement of my paintings.
      Blessings,
      Janis

I love to connect with you.
