SUNDAY STILLNESS – Romans 12:2

Sunday Stillness – Romans 12:2

Butterfly Romans 12:2

Watercolour painting by Janis Cox.

This week my focus has been on renewing my mind; making Christ my priority; listening to Him.

This is Easter Sunday.

I am filled to the brim with gratitude for what God has done for me. (tweet this)

I read Margaret Feinberg’s Post on Friday – and totally feel like she felt. Complete and utter joy for who God is.

“We will play and delight and rejoice and worship in the presence of God—with unabashed gratitude for all Christ has done for us” (Margaret Feinberg).

Rejoice – and again I say Rejoice. He is risen. He is risen indeed.

Happy Easter,

Janis

Today is Sunday Stillness – Do you have a Scripture that spoke to you this week? Please link below. If you post to Twitter use #sundaystillness and @authorjaniscox.

Feel free to pin the picture.

Read the Sunday Stillness rules if you are new here.

I would appreciate if you would link only about God’s Word. If you have a linky party that’s okay if it is about the same thing. Please no sales or prizes. I want this to be friendly but I must ask you to abide by the rules. Others want to read God’s Word – and that is what I would like the links to be about. I will take down the links that don’t follow the rules. Thanks so much.

This LINKY will be open longer this time until April 13th. So please join us.

Check out where I link on Places I Link to.

  1. This is so exquisite! Thank you for sharing and for the words to reflect on. I’m stopping by from Prowess and Pearls link-up from last week! I’m so glad you linked up so I could be blessed by the words you’ve shared here. Have a fantastic week!

    1. Faye,
Thanks so much. I had such fun painting this as I love butterflies. I can’t wait to get back home with my paints and brushes. Must carve out time to paint more.
      Blessings,
      Janis

  2. This is absolutely wonderful! I also LOVE the way God’s precious Word speaks to me each day, and He never ceases to use it to bring me to a place of realizing how good He is, and how blessed I am to have a Savior who would take thought of man, and care for him in the manner He does. Thanks for sharing this. I will share my link as soon as I finish this post. I also praise Him for people like YOU who take the time to encourage others to realize the blessing His Word is in our lives.
Thanks for sharing with us at Word Art Wednesday!

  3. What an encouraging post. The card has patterns on the flower and butterfly. Rejoice evermore. Encourgement is a rare thing these days.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful artwork with us this week.

The Blessing of the LORD be Upon You!

    1. Carole,
Let us make a habit of encouraging one another. Paul says in Romans that he wanted to “impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong, that is that you and I may be mutually encouraged by one another.” (Romans 1:11-12) I love that.
I will continue to link to Word Art.
      Blessings,
      Janis

  4. HI Janis, I am concentrating on not complaining, of any kind. When you are still and think about it, I didn’t realize that my conversations at times with my husband can be complaining. When I read my daily scripture and wrote my notes, I promised to do better. Easter was beautiful, I didn’t have to work and after church went to brunch and spent the rest of the day with my family.

    1. Whitney,
What a great lesson to learn – holding our tongues, waiting and letting God lead us. May you continue to grow in peace with God. I have to work on it as well. But it is much easier if I cloak myself in Jesus first thing in the morning.
      Blessings,
      Janis

  5. I love this post and painting! Our current dance ministry piece, “Transformed,” uses the metamorphosis of a caterpillar to a butterfly as a metaphor for spiritual rebirth. Thanks for hosting & God bless!

    1. Laurie,
That sounds awesome. I love butterflies – always have and the change of life is exactly how I feel about my change.
      Blessings,
      Janis

  6. Beautiful picture and I love that the verse goes with the direction that your linky party is going in. That of transformation through the power of God’s Word!

I don’t think I have specifically focused on a Scripture verse lately, so I won’t be able to participate. But when I do, I would love to link up to you! Like yesterday’s post, I mentioned about being called to love, but didn’t put down the actual verse for it. But I will link up when I can!

Thanks so much for linking up to “Making Your Home Sing Monday” today! 🙂

  7. Stopping by for a visit courtesy of Jumping Tandem.
I hope you and your family have a wonderful and blessed week! Happy Easter!

I love to connect with you.
