Sunday Stillness – Isaiah 35:2

Sunday Stillness – Isaiah 35:2

Isaiah 35:2

Finally this week I planted my garden. This spring has been cold, rainy and it hasn’t been the right time to get outside and plant.

I had a wonderful time. I love getting my hands into the dirt. I never use gloves. On the other hand, my hubby hates to put his hands into the earth. So he uses the shovel and I play with the dark soil. Heaven.

Joy – beauty – and song.

This week’s Scripture is from The Message:

Yes, there will be an abundance of flowers
and singing and joy!
The deserts will become as green as the mountains of Lebanon,
as lovely as Mount Carmel or the plain of Sharon.
There the Lord will display his glory,
the splendor of our God (Isaiah 35:2)

What joy are you seeing this season?
I watch for the splendour of God as it unfolds in my garden.

Read the Sunday Stillness rules if you are new here.

I would appreciate if you would link only about God’s Word. If you have a linky party that’s okay if it is about the same thing. Please no sales or prizes. I want this to be friendly but I must ask you to abide by the rules. Others want to read God’s Word – and that is what I would like the links to be about. I must take down the links that don’t follow the rules. Thanks so much.

  1. Hi Janis! 🙂 I love gardening so much!! I am not that great at it, but I love it all the same 😉 It is such an awesome miracle to watch life spring from little seeds and grow and reach towards the sun!! God’s creations are so beautiful!! Thanks for the link-up, have a blessed day!

  2. I have an abundance of flowers in my front yard… day lilies, stella lilies, piles of other variety. Just love the colors. And it DOES make me joyful! Thank you…

    1. Lavonne,
You ended up in the Spam. Sorry.
Thanks so much for your kind comments. I love the flowers too. Thanks for linking – hope to see you every Sunday.
      Blessings,

  3. Your post is like a beautiful sacred echo to mine today! I’ve been trying to link here since last night, but could not seem to find the Sunday Stillness link (Just Tadeo) till now! Blessings to your beautiful garden, and may His living water refresh and drench you in all the ways you need! 🙂

  4. Hello Janis! Your question made me realize that I need to stop and enjoy this season before it slips on by. Life has been so busy and I’ve yet to simply spend some quiet time outdoors enjoying all His splendor. So thank you for the push I needed. I love how God uses others…He is GOOD!
    Blessings,
    Beth

  5. Dear Janis
Since I am not able to do much gardening, I have been trying my Hubbie to bless me with a flower garden this year. He is like your husband; not fond of garden work at all.
    Much love XX
    Mia

  6. I never use gloves either – love the feel of dirt and having grubby fingernails. As you can guess, I am not a manicure sort of gal. Glad you were able to get out and revel in His beauty.

    1. Maureen,
It is great to find a dirt lover. I love paper mache, pottery, anything I can get my hands into.
thanks for dropping by. And I don’t worry about my fingers either.
      Janis

I love to connect with you.
