Sunday Stillness – Time – Titus 1:2

Sunday Stillness – Time – Titus 1:2

time---Titus-1-2

Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ to further the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness— in the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time,  and which now at his appointed season he has brought to light through the preaching entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior,

To Titus, my true son in our common faith:

Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior (Titus 1:1-4, NIV).

Time – something that God gives us. And He uses it to His glory. God planned our eternal lives before the beginning of time. That is a promise. And I just love God’s promises.

This week my “time” has been different but as I wrote in Five Minute Fridays – He is always right. I know I should be where I am. It is different and not what I do normally but I know He has the plan and I plan to follow Him.

Are you going with God’s timing or trying to make your way in your timing? It is a big question.

As my little grandson (22 months) is learning to do – Breathe. When things don’t seem to be going his way, he gets frustrated. His mommy has taught him to take a slow breath – and breathe. That calms him very well so he can then listen to why things are not going to go according to his timing.

Are you breathing? Are you taking the time to listen to the God Who created you?

Today is Sunday Stillness – Take time. And remember God has planned everything – in His timing.

Today is #SundayStillness.

That would be great.

Read the Sunday Stillness rules if you are new here.

I would appreciate if you would link only about God’s Word. If you have a linky party that’s okay if it is about the same thing. Please no sales or prizes. I want this to be friendly but I must ask you to abide by the rules. Others want to read God’s Word – and that is what I would like the links to be about. I must take down the links that don’t follow the rules. Thanks so much.

  1. Too often I try to run ahead of God’s timing. How I need to daily remember to slow down to see that He has made all things beautiful in His time.

Thank you for linking up at Words of Life, Janice.

  2. Beautiful photo – I love that kind of sunset scene. God is faithful and true to his word, which is what we need to remember when his timing is different from what we think it should be!

  3. Perfect timing for me! I sometimes get so frustrated as I’m working with real estate clients, helping my senior mom, babysitting grandkids, running errands…. And then God stops me to say, “put your time in My Hands – surrender that, along with everything else.” It’s so important, so hard, and yet so blessed for us to do! Thank you for another lovely reminder. 🙂

    1. Kaye,
That’s great that it is a good reminder for you. Yes no matter what if we say to ourselves, “God is in control.” we will have a more peaceful day.
      Blessings,
      Janis

  4. “I know I should be where I am… I know He has the plan…” Thank you, Janis. I know this is what I need to stay settled in. I seem to be in what Oswald Chambers calls “the blank” for an inordinately long time, but Chambers warns not to fill it in with my own impatient guesses, and you ask here,
“Are you going with God’s timing or trying to make your way in your timing?” It IS a big and very important question, even when the “going” isn’t going anywhere, but just staying put where one already is! Blessings to you!

    1. Sylvia,
Praying that you can be “settled in the space He has you”. I know it is hard but if we hold each other up during the blank times, He will lift us up. I love Oswald Chambers too. Don’t be impatient. Let Him do this.
      Blessings,
      Janis

  5. Hi Jan~What a beautiful photo! I liked your idea of taking a breath. Breathing in the time with the Lord so that our focus may be where He wants it. His way, not my way or my timing. Such a hard lesson to learn.

    1. The photo was taken by a good friend. I have used it before – love it. Breathe, yes breathe in His Spirit – let Him fill you up. Don’t try to make things go your way. It is not your timing.
      A very hard lesson.
      Blessings,
      Janis

I love to connect with you.
