WEDNESDAY’S WORD – Obey

Wednesday’s Word – OBEY

Sometimes I feel like I am stretched to the last ounce of my strength and time. So how can I do all the things that I think God has put before me?

Then He shows me:

Trust me enough to spend ample time with me and I will give you time. “I am able to bend time and events in your favor” (Jesus Calling, February 10).

And it works. In obedience I put Him first every day. In prayer, in study and meditation. And when I feel like I have no more energy left. I stop – and pray – rest in Him for a few minutes. REVIVED. Ready to tackle a little bit more.

So this week OBEY has been at the top of my list. It means to turn to God. I learned three important steps to obedience:

1. Don’t wait for God to come to you.

2.  Your mind is a gift from God – Use it. Choose to obey the Holy Spirit.  Click to Tweet

“we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5, NIV).

3.  Prod your memory. Wake it up.

The word “remember” is spoken many times in the Bible. I have joined the Romans Project to help me remember God’s Word. And I also have been learning a Scripture a week in Experiencing God.

So memorize Scripture. You can do it.

“My son, do not forget my teaching,
but keep my commands in your heart,” (Proverbs 3:1, NIV).

“Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him.” (John 14:21, NIV).

If I want to have a close relationship with God I need to learn to obey.

What do you think? Are there ways that you have learned to obey? I would love to hear from you.

  1. Obedience is better than sacrifice. True obedience is possible only through the indwelling Holy Spirit. If we seek Him first, we are much more likely to obey. Thanks for the great post & for hosting, & God bless!

I love to connect with you.
