Wednesday’s Word – Transformed
As we head toward Easter I think back at the difference that Easter means to me now compared to earlier -before I understood who Jesus is.
I found a poem I had written a few years ago.
I thought I would share it with you today. It is based on Romans 12:1-2.
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Inside Out
Dry, brittle
Easily hurt
Lifeless
Angry, unsure
Taking hold of life
By sheer will.
Exert control, demand
Expect everyone
To heed my call.
EMPTY
Jesus entered
Sensed my struggle
Asked me to lay it down.
Pierced my soul
With life-giving blood
And turned me inside out.
Released my fear
Sorrow and pain
Mercy washed over me.
Showed me love,
Patience and passion
And life with an Eternity.

I love the word “transformed”. It was my word for 2012. I chose that word because I saw how I need God’s transforming power daily in my life! Your poem is very touching, too! Thanks for sharing and hosting the Wednesday Word link-up!
