What is going on in the world?
Are you up-to-date with your prayers for the world?
I watch our Canadian news station called The National every night so I can keep abreast with what is happening in our world. But I found the best resource for prayer is Operation World 21st Century.
Each day for a whole year you can read, and pray about a continent or country. Sometimes more than one day will be spent on that continent or country. Not only do you expand your knowledge of the world but you see how God works and what we can pray about.
In the Bible we read,
I’m praying not only for them
But also for those who will believe in me
Because of them and their witness about me.
The goal is for all of them to become one heart and mind—
Just as you, Father, are in me and I in you,
So they might be one heart and mind with us.
Then the world might believe that you (my emphasis), in fact, sent me.
The same glory you gave me, I gave them,
So they’ll be as unified and together as we are—
I in them and you in me.
Then they’ll be mature in this oneness,
And give the godless world evidence
That you’ve sent me and loved them
In the same way you’ve loved me (John 17:20-23, The Message).
Yes, we need to pray for the world – for God’s people. Check out Operation World website.

- God’s leading to find my husband, Wayne, almost 43 years ago
- My education, so I can read, write, think and talk
- My dog’s, Snowball, kisses
- My eyes to see – the beauty of the world and God
Prayer:
Lord, we are grateful for our lives. We pray for those who have not heard your message through Jesus. We pray that You continue to teach us how to pray – there are so many ways. In Jesus’ name. AMEN
