WHO IS OUR PROBLEM SOLVER?

Who is Our Problem Solver?

If you’re anything like me when a huge problem arises I tend to look at it, rather than the “Problem Solver” even though I have been a prayer warrior for years, and I do not say that smugly. As a new believer, prayer became paramount in my life.  The intercessory type of prayer that’s talked about in Romans, the type that  can bring a person to tears. Where Paul writes:-

“In the same way ,the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself  intercedes for us with groans  that words cannot express. And he that searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will” (Romans 8: 26-27 NIV).

After I pray such prayers and wipe away my tears,  peace and assurance always follows.

But in spite of these wonderful experiences, panic and doubt can set in when one of those huge problems arise. My focus becomes fixed on the problem and all the terrors and “what ifs” it entails.  What is going on when this happens? I am not looking to Jesus, my Problem Solver, my friend and the one who has kept His promise of the coming of The Holy Spirit to help me and all fellow believers to  pray through those seemingly insolvable problems with us.

Prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus, forgive my wavering and doubt. May I always think of you first when faced with a problem and may I remember as your child that I can rely on the help of your Holy Spirit to help me when I pray.
