WHY DO I BLOG?

Why Do I Blog?

I ask everything of the Lord. The other day I said, “Okay Lord, you have led me to write, to publish a book and now you are asking me to blog more. Why?” In a few days, He answered me.

The answer: Togetherness

Wednesday’s Word – Together.

Scripture upon scripture came to me this week and each one had to do with building relationships. First we need to build a personal relationship with God through Jesus. Then we build relationships with other believers so we can grow in our faith together.

“”Jesus replied, “Love the Lord your God, with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.”” [a memory verse for Bible study]

And the second is like it: “Love your neighbour as yourself””(Matthew 22: 37-39, NIV).

Next in my memory work for Romans I came upon:

“that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith” (Romans 1:12, NIV)

Building a community of believers.

That is why the Lord has given me a passion to write. I write for God’s glory and not my own.

I want to write so God can be blessed; that others will spend more time thinking of and talking about Jesus; and that together we will grow closer to Him.

What does that mean for me?

  • I need to study more
  • I need to read more
  • I need to stop fixating on the how it will work but instead focus on the what does He want me to say.

Here is another passage He showed me:

“And in Him you too are being built TOGETHER to become a dwelling in which God lives by His Spirit” (Ephesians 2:22, NIV).

If we go back to Acts – when the disciples met they would discuss, learn, and question God.

They “met together to discuss important issues” (Acts 15:6, NRSV).

I know that as I read other blogs and meet other believers my faith grow stronger. And now that I know that making a community where we can grow in togetherness is God’s plan for me, I will continue to press on in writing, reading, studying, praying and meditating.

If God can be practical in helping me build a relationship with Him, I can be practical in bridging the immensity of the world, the difference in race, culture, and age – and build a strong togetherness in Christ – right here on the Internet.

Can we build a community to follow God’s Word
