WONDER – I AM WONDERSTRUCK! – Five-Minute Fridays

Wonder – I am Wonderstruck!

Well – what do you know? Lisa-Jo (Five-Minute Fridays) picks a word that has been on my lips for the past month – wonder. This week alone both Janet Sketchley and myself have posted about the wonder of God.

I have been reading this awesome book called Wonderstruck by Margaret Feinberg. It has not been published yet but I was given the privilege to read the first 5 chapters. Wonderstruck releases Christmas Day.

Wonderstruck! by Margaret Feinberg

And each day I am struck by the wonder of God. Here are just a few of the ways He has spoken to me this week:

People

Yes, people are messy but they are wonderful too. God led me this year to find an amazing group of women who live in the same community together. I am an outsider (a Canadian and not in their community) but they welcomed me in. I am still in wonder how this happened. They are called Bible Babes. Yup – that’s what I said – Bible Babes. Funny loving, serious, happy, sad, full of life, feeling down – but love the Lord. They help each other. Learning lots and growing in the Lord.

Weather

The wonder of this weather in Arizona still astounds me. No rain – just sunshine and warmth. This is their “cool” season. We walk, we sit at the pool and we gaze out the windows at trees, birds, flowers and blue sky. Beautiful.

Family

I love my family. I love their independence. I love their love for each other. I love their caring for their friends and extended families. I miss them. But I connect via the Internet and phone. We will be home for Christmas for tremendous HUGS and kisses. I wonder that my hubby and I – just the 2 of us have built a family of 11 with 1 more on the way. That is astonishing to me.

The Bible

God’s word is a wonder to me. How each word can mean so much. How I can ask for an answer and He gives it – through His Word. How wonderstruck is that!

God says:

“if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God who gives generously to all without finding fault and it will be given to him” (James 1:5 NIV).

So I can ask “stupid questions” – God doesn’t find fault with me. He answers me. Wahoo!!

What are you wonderstruck about? Let’s TWEET it. Tell the world. Our God is an awesome God.

    1. Margaret,
You are most welcome. I have learned much – especially how to Tweet. But I have learned so much through your words. Filled with wonder how He has led me to this spot at this time.

  1. Hi Janis
What a wonderful description of the BB’s (the Bible Babes). Love this. What about the acronym BBB’s for Beautiful Bible Babes, for they surely sound like a bunch of ladies with beautiful, authentic hearts! And the wonder of the Living Word always being present within us, will always be a wonder to me!
    Much love
    Mia

    1. I will have to tell them that when we meet this week. They are a wonderful Spirit-filled group of women. Much love to you too, Mia.
      Blessings,
      Janis

  2. Janis, Love all the Wonderings you’ve had lately. I enjoy having this prompt to push me in one direction for writing, but LOVE it even more when there is connection in all that is going on around us. Sermons, books, scripture/devotionals… How does God do that? It brings us such enhancement to our spiritual experience!

Just became a subscriber so I can read more and see your pretty pictures.
Bless you Janis and thanks again for your encouragement – my FMF neighbor, and sister in Christ…
