WHERE DID THE 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS GO?

Where Did the 12 Days of Christmas Go?

2012 - The Year of Trust
2012 – The Year of Trust

I am not sure if anyone noticed – but I didn’t until a moment ago. For some reason I did not post last Friday. We were on the road for 12 days and time just slipped away. We visited family; played games; went for walks in the snow; did plays – both puppet and acting with the grandkids; we ate; we talked and we lived. But I forgot to post my own post on this blog.

Oh well – I am sure that you had things to do over the holidays too. On the JOY DARE by Ann Voskamp, today’s dare is to find 3 graces. I will be asking for grace from my readers. That’s one grace – two to go.

Although I thoroughly enjoyed our visiting – it is good to be back into a regular routine. I loved my early morning times with God – they were not as regular while we travelled. I missed that purposeful connection. I didn’t lose connection with God – just the habit of morning conversation.

Last year, I found a word that carried me through 2012 – the year was TRUST. I learned a lot this past year with that word.

The year had its trials with my husband recovering from his car accident; my mom’s ill health and eventual death early in 2012; the exciting time with my daughter’s first born; lots of flying; putting my children’s book in Shutterfly to take to a writers’ conference and the books not arriving in time; deciding to publish with Word Alive; a mission trip to Poland; teaching Bible studies and organizing a vacation Bible school; travelling back here to Arizona.

I trusted God through everything.

He was faithful. I remained calm, content and at peace.

Now I need to find a new word for 2013 – tomorrow I will tell you that word in my regularly scheduled posting for Friday. But I thought to bring you up-to-date with my year end musings.

I wrote about 7 Habits for 2013 – Come and visit me at my website www.janiscox.com. I would love to add you as a subscriber. Just slip your email in the box on the right of my website.

Blessings and see you tomorrow.

Prayer:

Thanks for my readers, Father. May you continue to teach us this year to connect with you. May we develop spiritual habits that help us get to know and serve you better. In Jesus’ name. AMEN.
