How Wide is Christ’s Love?

Between turkey dinners, family and walks there hasn’t been much time to myself. I am stealing 5 minutes to write on the word WIDE from Lisa Jo’s Five Minute Fridays.

My husband, after many tries, has finally been able to get it through my thick head which measurement is width; which is depth and which is height. Not sure why it took me so long.

Wide is the left to right stretch. So think horizontal. Arms outstretched. Then that makes me think of a big hug.

WIDE=LOVE

I love to hug – and get hugs. I think of wide as being love encompassed. A big stretch and a big hug.

As I learn more about people through the Internet, and on my trips to Poland I learn we are all alike – we need love, encouragement and hugs. We need each other. That is what Christ said to us to love our neighbours. His love is WIDE and so should ours be. Paul states:

“And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ,” (Ephesians 3:17,18 NIV).

Let’s try to think of His wide love as we meet others.
