Sunday Stillness – John 10:16
I heard strange words a while back. I heard, “There are other ways to God.” I know this is untrue and I keep hearing even more Scripture pointing me to the truth.
Today’s Scripture is powerful for me:
I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd (John 10:16, NIV).
I have other sheep, which are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will hear My voice; and they will become one flock with one shepherd (John 10:16, NASB)
Every version that I looked it says: ONE – Shepherd. Yes ONE.
Could that be any clearer?
Christmas is around the corner.
Our Shepherd came as a Babe;
Stayed with us for a short time;
Left us to return to the Father;
Sent the Holy Spirit to live in us;
Thanks be to God.
Prayer:
Father, as we approach Christmas let our eyes focus on You, Jesus. Let our hearts fill with joy at Your coming to earth. Thank You. In Your Name. AMEN.

Years ago, my hubby and I used to raise sheep, along with other animals on our small farm. The one thing they knew was that I was the one who fed and cared for them and every time they would follow me over anyone else who walked into the pasture area. Sheep truly do get it…there is only one Shepherd to follow!! Blessings and peace to you and your family this Christmas season!!

So very true, Janis. This morning’s message in church was all about the fact that Jesus came to testify to the Truth. That was what He told Pilate when Pilate asked him if He was a king. Truth is not only something, it’s Someone. Jesus is the Truth, absolute Truth. And He is the only One who can shepherd us to our salvation.
