Sunday Stillness – How to Face Uncertainty
by Janis Cox
Each day is filled with a newness, a wonder. But each day could bring changes. We don’t know.
A storm could arise.
Jesus replied:
“You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm (Matthew 8:26, NIV).
How do we face each day? Certainly Jesus has to be my focus. He is the One who never changes.
We know that He is the Beginning and the End.
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End (Rev. 22:13, NIV).
Therefore we have peace because of Jesus. I remember PEACE because to me it means:
Put
Everything
Aside –
Christ
Enters
Jesus said:
I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace (John 16:33, NIV).
Here is a YouTube video of Your Love is Amazing by Brian Doerksen. Let’s sing praises to our Lord this morning knowing that He is in charge.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Jesus. He has become my firm foundation, the rock beneath my feet. He is my Peace. Help me to show others how to get to know Jesus. In Jesus’s Name. Amen.
I know there is someone out there this morning in the midst of a storm. Cry out to Jesus. May I offer a prayer for you. Please send me a personal email and I will pray for you.

Today is Sunday Stillness.
Read the Sunday Stillness rules if you are new here.
I would appreciate if you would link only about God’s Word. If you have a linky party that’s okay if it is about the same thing. Please no sales or prizes. I want this to be friendly but I must ask you to abide by the rules. Others want to read God’s Word – and that is what I would like the links to be about. I must take down the links that don’t follow the rules. Thanks so much.

Please check out all the places I link to during the week. Thanks to everyone who has joined Sunday Stillness. I do try to get to your posts every week but I admit sometimes I don’t have the time.

Beautiful painting and post, Janis! Praise God that He is our firm foundation — our shelter from the storm! Thanks for hosting & God bless!
Thanks Laurie,
It was an experimental painting done in an art course. But when I started I had no idea what was going to come out.
Blessings,
janis
Love this song. And one of my favorite names for Christ is Alpha Omega. Have a blessed Sunday and thank you for hosting!
Carrie,
We sing this at church often – I love it too.
Blessings,
janis
Love your painting, Janis! It’s soothing in the midst of a storm. Beautiful colors and peaceful thoughts here.
Janis,
I am so glad you saw that calming part – because I wanted to make the sun shine and the waves calm down even in the midst of the storm.
Blessings to you,
Janis
