What does Undergirded by Prayer Mean?

What Does Undergirded by Prayer Mean?

Rebuilding the Walls - Nehemiah

Last week I attended a Christian Writers Conference, held in Guelph, Ontario. The conference is called Write! Canada and sponsored by The Word Guild. For the past nine years I have faithfully attended this conference. It is really the highlight of my year.

Where can I find faithful Christians in one place for 3 days,
who also write?

Write! Canada is a place where we can all set aside agendas, we can encourage one another, we can be filled with worship, we can pray together, and we can learn more about the craft of writing.

My heart is full but my head is also full. For the next few weeks I will be in prayer asking God what did I hear and what does He want me to do with that learning.

The most powerful part of our conference is the undergirding of the Prayer Team. We knew that those who stayed at home were in prayer for us every day. Thank you to those who held us up to the Lord.

I heard a paraphrase of Nehemiah 4:16 that said:

“Those protecting the workers are as important
as the workers themselves”.

Thank you Prayer Team for protecting us during the conference.

We also held early morning prayer times (and two afternoon prayer times, too), where we lifted up concerns of attendees. They were able to put their concerns on paper and place in a prayer bag. We also prayed for what we were hearing from God too. It was a powerful start to the day!
