Are You Unleashing the Power of the Holy Spirit?
by Janis Cox
I have started to read a great book called Not a Fan by Kyle Idleman.
It is a challenging read and I am taking it slowly.
Get out your highlighter and let Kyle take you back to the core of Christianity. You may never enjoy being challenged more than reading this clear, compelling, and winsome book (Lee Strobel).
Lee Strobel, is the author of Case for Christ, a book that changed my understanding of Who Jesus is.
Kyle Idleman’s, is the author of Not a Fan, a book that is changing my understanding of the Holy Spirit.
Today I read a chapter on the Holy Spirit. I am not even finished the chapter but one part startled me enough to want to tell you about it.
I have heard people say, “Wouldn’t it be great to have lived in the times of the Old Testament?”
What would it have been like to hear God’s voice and see him move in such powerful ways? (Kyle Idleman)
And then are those who say the same about the New Testament. They wished they could have been with Jesus and see the miracles.
But then Kyle reminds us that we have a more powerful connection to God through the Holy Spirit.
YES
While God with you is good, God in you is better (Kyle Idleman).
Jesus could be with his followers, but the Holy Spirit would live in his followers (Kyle Idleman).
So let’s give the Holy Spirit time to work in us this week.
Prayer:
Father, we thank You for loving us; for sending Jesus to live with us; for sending the Holy Spirit to live in us. Help us to learn more and listen to You, through the Holy Spirit. We pray in Jesus’ Name. AMEN.

I have not read the book you mentioned, but have read and reviewed another one on the same topic. Sue
Sue,
Thanks for the link. I love the fact that we are in Christ.

Dear Janis
I am reminded how Jesus told the people that John the Baptist was the greatest of all the people who had lived up to that time, but the least of those in the Kingdom was greater than John. I experience the life of Jesus everyday in me and through me, He talks to me and me to Him all through the day. He holds me when my pain and illness gets so worse that I can only deep in Him. So, no, I want to live right here where I am for during the time Jesus walked the earth we could talk to and so on, but when the Holy Spirit filled the people at Pentecost. All the people’s hearts ready to receive the Spirit of Jesus to come to live with His glory..

Jan, it’s probably connection on my side but I was unable to load the tweetables when I clicked on them. I liked the one about “God in you.” Good stuff.
Sorry Susan, but when I click they go to my Twitter right away.
Thanks for commenting,
