Can I Pray to See Blessings?
by Janis Cox
After finding my “word” for 2013, which is LIVE, my desire was to make a new habit to write a word from God each week. It is called Wednesday’s Word.
This week I chose the word today. Everything that I have been reading speaks to me about living with God each moment. I get great help and inspiration from Sarah Young’s Jesus Calling.
This week the words that touched me were:
“My living Presence is your Companion every step of the way…Expect each day to contain surprises… The future is a phantom, seeking to spook you. Laugh at the future. Stay close to me” (Jesus Calling).
Yesterday’s reading said SEARCH. That made me laugh as another habit I am cultivating this year is the JOY DARE. Every day I go on a hunt for 3 things listed in the Dare. You can check this out on Ann Voskamp’s page.
Can I to pray to SEE those blessings and watch for everything around me that God is preparing me to see. – YES
Anticipate abundant blessings and accept difficulties as they come.
How can I do that?
Answer: By being in constant contact with the Father.
BE AWARE OF GOD
Once again I have an acronym for AWARE:
A – Always
W – Watch
A – Anticipate
R – Rewards
E – Every day
Prayer:
Oh Lord, open my eyes to see you in my life today. Help me search for what you have prepared for me. Thank you in advance. In Jesus’ name. AMEN.
The song that came to me was Open the Eyes of My Heart. One of the first version I heard was Sonic Flood’s.

I love Ann Voskamp’s Joy Dare! I find it so much easier to spot those little blessings when I have been in the habit of looking for them. Blessings to you today!

Beautiful, Janis! I love your acronym for AWARE! May we live in the eternal present in the center of His perfect will.
God bless!
Laurie,
Thanks for the compliment. Praying that we all can be AWARE of the wonder of God – His love, His care and His Presence.
Blessings,
Janis
