GIVE – DOES GOD WANT TO GIVE TO US?

Give – Does God want to give to us?

As I was doing some writing on my computer, I wondered about meeting anyone in the deserted campground we were in that evening, and then I heard a knock on the door.  It was the camp hostess with a coupon for an extra night stay, so I invited her in for a visit.

Soon I was explaining a book I’m writing on “Listening”, listening to the still, small voice of God speak to our minds and hearts.  Right away she was interested to read some of the entries I’ve made over the years as I’ve heard God speak to me when I prayed and then listened.

We had a wonderful conversation sharing our stories of life and walking with God.  After about twenty minutes of an engaging connection, she left with an inspiration to draw closer to God and for her also to listen to the voice of God speak in her own life.  Again I discovered God will bring the people he wants into our lives, and that God can use us to touch, hear and talk to others.

Here is an entry I made one morning some time ago as I listened to God in the hush and quiet of the dawn:

Yes, my child, I love to give to you.
I love all my children everywhere,
and so many perceive lack and need.

If only all could see the abundance and wealth all around them.
Please live so others can see my love and compassion,
my offers of help.
I realize this doesn’t come easy for you.
I want you to know I fully understand your feelings,
emotions and thoughts of limitation.

I left the glories of heaven
to be born as a baby in Bethlehem
to experience humanity’s frailty,
to be obedient to my Father
and to rise above it all –
overcoming every situation, even death
so you can do the same.

Love richly and deeply
and give to my world.
