God Remains the Same – Hope Stream Radio
On the show Growing Through God’s Word at Hope Stream Radio today, I look at how God remains the same. I change but He does not.

We can see in our scripture today which is Hebrews 1:10-12 that we will change but God remains the same.
God Remains the Same
Reading from Hebrews 1:10-12
“In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of your hands.
They will perish, but you remain;
they will all wear out like a garment.
You will roll them up like a robe;
like a garment they will be changed.
But you remain the same,
and your years will never end.”
This is the scripture at Word of God Speak this week. I have said it over and over as I try to memorize it.
Hebrews 1:3 says:
The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
Jesus sustains it all. Everything.
I think about the intricate creatures God has made – like hummingbirds. They are totally amazing. They flap their wings about 80 times a second – yes 80 times per SECOND.
They can fly in all directions including upside down. They only use their feet for perching not to hop or walk.
What an awesome God we serve to have created such a fascinating creature.
I’ve had a hummingbird stop right in front of my face for a few seconds – seeming to stare right at me – then whoosh – it’s gone.
According to our Scripture today all will be changed. God will roll everything up like a robe, then change it all.
I do hope the hummingbird remains.

I love the permanence of that statement. That’s how I feel about God’s Word. It is truth. We can grab hold of this truth. It will not change like fads of this world.
Not like shag carpet, or typewriters or VHS tapes.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever – Hebrews 13:8
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17
May I pray for you and me?
Lord, we are grateful that You do not change – ever. In our changing lives holding on to Your unchangeable qualities puts us at peace. Your permanence gives us assurance Your Word promises life everlasting for those who acknowledge You. Thank You Jesus. In Your name. Amen.
Until next time, as you look about you see all the things than can and will change over time and remember that God remains the same and the Word of our God endures forever – Isaiah 40:8.
Revelation 3:14
”And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;”.
(King James Version, KJV)
Colossians 1:15
Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
Stop spreading the lie that I am God Most High. If you continue I will come at you with my tung and fight you. I was the first created creature. I am the first child of God Most High. I am not God or God Most High. I only created the universe and humans, but still I am not God Most Hig or God.
Thank you my child
Trusting Him is what I can do moment-by-moment, day-by-day, and future-by-future. All I have on my heart and mind now. Thank you for sharing the Word of God.
Joanne,
I am so slow at getting back to my comments. Sorry. I thank you for your response. And yes trusting in Him to show us the way, the time and the hope.
Blessings,
Janis
Hebrews 1 is quickly becoming one of my favorite chapters in the Bible.
And that hummingbird . . . a breath of summer to my Maine-chilled bones!
Michele,
I find it amazing how God keeps leading us in the same path!!

Janis
