Sunday Stillness – Pause
A week in perspective – I see the times that I had energy and when I lagged. When I learned to lean on God – and ask for energy – I blossomed. When I pushed through in my own strength – I sagged.
Day 2 in Session 3 of Margaret Feinberg’s Bible Study based on Wonderstruck – is called “The Pause Awakens us to God”. I had an amazing morning reading and working through this session.
I developed this acronym to remind me to take that Pause-
Put Aside Until Spirit Energizes.
Here are a two questions you can ask yourselves:
- How does lack of rest make you dull to the things of God?
- What temptations are you more prone to give in to when you haven’t received enough rest?
“By taking time – even if only a portion of a day – to stop working and rest, I’m reminded that God holds all things together” (Wonderstruck Bible Study, Margaret Feinberg). [Tweet this]
Jesus tells us to take time to be with Him and rest – to be refreshed in the Spirit.
“Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest” (Mark 6:31, NIV).
What is stopping you? Is there any reason for you not to take 3 minutes – right now and seek His Presence?
PAUSE.

Read the Sunday Stillness rules if you are new here.
I would appreciate if you would link only about God’s Word. If you have a linky party that’s okay if it is about the same thing. Please no sales or prizes. I want this to be friendly but I must ask you to abide by the rules. Others want to read God’s Word – and that is what I would like the links to be about. I must take down the links that don’t follow the rules. Thanks so much.

Resting in God’s presence is so important. I don’t do it nearly enough. Thank you for the reminder to rest and refuel!
Barbie,
Oh I do so need that time – or exhaustion happens.
Thanks for commenting.
Blessings,
Janis
How lovely. I hope you have a wonderful and blessed week.
Rona,
Thank you. May you have a lovely week as well.
Blessings,
Janis
Rest and pause. God seems to never be finished teaching me something new about those two. Thank you for the gentle reminder.
Blessings!
p.s. please don’t be alarmed that I’m not posting your link in my post this week. I had some issues and decided that I shouldn’t go back and upset the precarious ‘apple cart.’ It’s been a long time since this issue…I do hope you’ll understand. 🙂 It’s only this week.
Diane,
Time for me to stop right now – and pause to re-energize. Breathe.
Not to worry about the link – just to have you here is enough.
Blessings,
Janis
Yes, we all need to remember to take this pause and reconnect with Him. He is always there for us.
I am following you through the Feedly reader now. Have a blessed week!

You’re welcome, Janis. Have a great weekend.
I love this reminder to pause. “Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10. Thank you for your image, beautiful words and your heart to allow us to share here. Many blessings.
Beth,
Thank you for your kind words. I need to be reminded to pause as well. But what a difference it makes.
Blessings,
Janis
Thank you for sharing these important thoughts / we need pauses to be still / to rest and stop before God / to hear from Him, be thankful and just be with Him.
Oh I try to pause before I start anything just to centre myself with God. Breathe in and thank Him before I begin.
Blessings,
Janis
