Advent Week Four – Love

This is Advent Week Five. The focus is on LOVE. Love came down in the form of a BABE. God gave His only Son to us. The Incarnation. Love at its highest.

Advent Week Four

Love at its highest.

By reading through God’s Word we can know more and more about this love. And we also learn how we need to show the same love to others.

After reading today’s scriptures, I wrote this poem. Love is this week’s Advent Week Four.

This is an abecedarian poem. I use the first letter of the alphabet to help me work through my thoughts.

Today’s scriptures:

Luke 1:46b-55;
1 Samuel 1:1-18;
Hebrews 9:1-14

Journey of Faith

Anyone can
Believe. It only takes a
Choice to say ‘yes’.

Don’t wait though.
Eternity is your goal.

Faith isn’t easy.
God is patient but
He wants true conviction.

Instead of rules and regulations,
Jesus came to give us the
Knowledge of God, about true
Love and to bring
Meaning to our lives.

No one will be left out if they say ‘yes’.
Open hearts and
People will see the truth.

Questions are allowed and welcomed.
Remember your past.
Study God’s Word.

Testimonies are needed
Until the choice is made.

Victory is assured
Whenever someone
eXercises the choice to believe.

You’re saved at the end.
Zed.

May I pray for you and me?

Father, you said we only need belief the size of a mustard seed. Help us to make that choice and stick with it. Help us say ‘yes’ and then spread our love to others. Help us not fall away. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

I have been thinking this week about hope – hope now and forever. We lost a wonderful joyful calm brother-in-law this week. We celebrated his life and we know he is with Jesus. But we mourn. We are the ones who are left here on earth.

As I think about our faith and the hope we are given I remember this acronym:

Hope now and forever

This openness – how did it happen?

At Pentecost the Spirit of God descended onto the disciples and the world. They were filled with the Holy Spirit. God resides now on earth through His Spirit and all those who accept Jesus are filled with it.

We need to be open to receive it in order to find hope now and forever.

hope now and forever

The Holy Spirit has been here on earth since Jesus’ death and resurrection and the coming of Pentecost.

we have to receive the revelation that He is here (Oswald Chambers).

It is Christ’s power that comes to us when we are open to receive it. That power is given so we can see Jesus and realize that this is eternal life – from this moment on and forever.

And this is eternal life, that people can know You the only true God, and Jesus Christ, Whom You have sent (John 17:3, NIV).

Perceiving eternity – can be in the now, knowing Christ, having
hope for now and forever.

I love 10 000 Reasons by Matt Redman.

Still my soul will sing Your praise unending
Ten thousand years and then forevermore

Now and forever

I think we have jumped through some hurdles and we are on the way to the finish line. Stay tuned for the news.
