H.E.L.P.
by Jan Cox
Lately I have been crying out to God, as in the Psalms:
Listen to my prayer, O God, do not ignore my plea;
hear me and answer me. My thoughts trouble me and I am distraught. (Psalm 55: 1-2 NIV)But as for me, I trust in You (Psalm 55:23 NIV)
That last line always bring the peace I need – the assurance of a loving God who hears my prayers and answers.
When I feel anxious I do cry HELP but it is a new HELP.
H – Having
E – Everything
L – Lifted in
P – Prayer
Prayer does what worrying can’t do – it gives me a foundation,
caring arms and the strength I need. (Tweetable)
Prayer:
As I learn more and more about You, Father, I know that turning to You in prayer is the most important task I can do. Thanks for teaching me to do this. In Jesus’ name. AMEN.
