H.E.L.P.
by Jan Cox
“Help!”
That’s the cry that escapes my lips when I lift up anything confusing, upsetting or unsettling to God. I find I cry this often – so often that I have made an acronym to remember that I am not crying out an empty plea but that my plea has a focus and a listener.
My acronym is this:
H – Have
E – Everything
L – Lifted in
P – Prayer
We know that in prayer we have a connection to God through our Intercessor Jesus Christ. When we pray we ask through Him for those things that are on our hearts.
I have found that in many situations I don’t have the time or emotional stamina to pray a long time. I need to call for HELP immediately.
When I say the word HELP – I know to whom I am calling. I know He listens and answers. I know He brings the only peace that will sustain me.
Here are some Scripture promises that can go with my HELP prayer.
“For with God nothing shall be impossible” (Luke 1:37 KJV).
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28 NIV).
but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint. (Isaiah 40:31 NIV).
When you feel you need help – call out H.E.L.P and rest in God’s promises.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for being right here all the time. I know I can cry out to You and You will be here with me. As I cry HELP remind me it is You where I can get my strength and my peace through hard times. In Jesus’ name. AMEN.
