Simply Saturday – Wonder
Piggy-backing on The Gypsy Mama’s post from yesterday – Topic: Wonder
I have five minutes to write about “wonder”.
Here goes:
I always wonder about the Holy Spirit. I think of how incredibly wonderful it is that we can feel and know God through the Holy Spirit.
Forty days after Jesus had left this earth, at Pentecost, He unleashed His Spirit on the earth. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord.
A few times in my life I have been touched by His Spirit. Powerful experiences.
And many times the Holy Spirit helps me find the right words in a situation. I haven’t been hauled before the police but I still have had the proper words come out of my mouth in tough situations.
“When they drag you into their meeting places, or into police courts and before judges, don’t worry about defending yourselves—what you’ll say or how you’ll say it. The right words will be there. The Holy Spirit will give you the right words when the time comes” (Luke 11-12 The Message).
I wonder, too, what heaven will be like. I don’t want to leave this world or my friends and family. But it is comforting to know that I will be with God. I love this picture of heaven and wonder.
“The main street of the City was pure gold, translucent as glass. But there was no sign of a Temple, for the Lord God—the Sovereign-Strong—and the Lamb are the Temple. The City doesn’t need sun or moon for light. God’s Glory is its light, the Lamb its lamp! The nations will walk in its light and earth’s kings bring in their splendor. Its gates will never be shut by day, and there won’t be any night. They’ll bring the glory and honor of the nations into the City. Nothing dirty or defiled will get into the City, and no one who defiles or deceives. Only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life will get in” (Revelation 21:21-27 The Message).
STOP!
What do you wonder about? You can comment below or link your own post to The Gypsy Mama’s Five Minute Fridays.
I live in the White Mountains of Arizona. Up on the Rim as the locals say. It is amazing. If you are in AZ in the Winter, I am pretty sure you are not up in the mountains. It got 25 below this year!!
We live in Mesa – in the winter – we leave the -25 degree weather from Ontario – and where I live -35 brrr.
Blessings,
Jan
Some of the same things I wonder about myself! Thank you for sharing.
