Manifesto – One Way God Might Change You

Manifesto – One Way God Might Change You

If you know me you will know I love a challenge. Jeff Goins set up this week as a Blogging Challenge Week. He will give prompts every day and we are to write and post them. The challenge today was to write a manifesto. See more about that below.

Manifesto

The first challenge was to do this on Monday. It is still Monday here in Arizona – about 8:27 pm.

Challenge One – to write a manifesto.

A manifesto is a short, shareable document that makes an argument, that tells the world what you’re about. It’s something that picks a fight, makes a stand, gets people to stand up and say “yes I agree with this” or “no way!”.

I have been working on my Manifesto to give as an ebook for subscribers who join my newsletter  (and to all those who are already subscribed). So I have taken just a part of that manifesto to share with you today. My whole manifesto is called 5 Ways God Might Change You.

One Way God Might Change You

 God Can Change Your Health

Fifteen years ago I lived a different life. I was a different person than I am today. [edited: My hubby reminded me that really that was over 20 years ago. God started to work in me a number of years before I acknowledged Who Jesus is.]

Fifteen years ago my back ached, my shoulders were sore; I couldn’t raise my hand to write on the blackboard; I couldn’t lift a teapot to pour a cup of tea. My knees could not support me well enough to let me climb stairs. I tightened my jaw and had to wear a dental brace to prevent me from biting down during my sleep. This caused a condition called TMJ [1] My joints in my fingers developed bumps and they swelled often.

Physically I was a mess.

Today as I write in my journal, type on the computer, and watercolour, I thank God for the healing He has provided. As I take the stairs, walk, tap dance and play pickleball, I feel blessed to have the ability to do these things. And I am 15 years older.

When I decided to start a relationship with Jesus, He healed me. (click to tweet)

BLESS the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits. Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases (Psalm 103:1-3, NIV).

I can’t tell you how but I know these things:

  1. God gave me peace.

This is the first scripture I memorized.

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7, NIV).”

  1. God took away my fear.

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline (2 Timothy 1:7, NIV).

  1. God led me to people who helped in all areas of healing my body.

I know God leads me to people who can help me. From massage therapists to physiotherapists, I had people help me, and friends who taught me Who Jesus is. We have read many books on healthy eating. Now we plan our meals around vegetables, meats, fruits, nuts, and good fats – no processed foods. We are much healthier. We also are disciplined in walking every day.

But most of all God is the One who healed me. (click to tweet)

[1] – The temporomandibular joint acts like a sliding hinge, connecting your jawbone to your skull. TMJ disorders can cause pain in your jaw joint and in the muscles that control jaw movement.

Are you in need of a physical makeover? I know that Jesus can help you. Just ask Him to.

I would love to hear your thoughts.
