Sunday Stillness – Prayer of Jabez
This is our third week in studying the Prayer of Jabez at church. As I repeat each day, “Lord, bless me indeed, expand my territory,” I see things differently. I take the time to connect with people on Twitter, on Facebook and in my personal life. God still gives me ample time to finish what other tasks need to done.
‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty (Zechariah 4:6, NIV).
If I want to be a true follow of Jesus I need to spend time with Him, to listen to Him and get to know Him better. Then I hope God will work through me to expand my territory (my ministry).
As I work through two strong faith-filled books (Prayer of Jabez and Not a Fan) and read through the New Testament as a Lenten discipline, it seems like a big challenge. But nothing is impossible with God. Somehow I am doing this and not stressed in the least. Thank You, Lord.
God always intervenes when you put His agenda before yours and go for it (Bruce Wilkinson, Prayer of Jabez)!

Read the Sunday Stillness rules if you are new here.
I would appreciate if you would link only about God’s Word. If you have a linky party that’s okay if it is about the same thing. Please no sales or prizes. I want this to be friendly but I must ask you to abide by the rules. Others want to read God’s Word – and that is what I would like the links to be about. I must take down the links that don’t follow the rules. Thanks so much.

Janis,
I love the opening quote you share from Bruce Wilkerson’s book, how a supernatural God works thorugh natural circumstances. That is a great image to keep before my eyes.
I am reading through the New Testament for Lent as well. I have blessed that he is opening my eyes to scriptures I had read but forgotten.
Blessings,
Dawn
Dawn,
I loved the quote too. May we both make the time to finish the Lenten study.
Blessings,
Janis
Thank you for kettings me use the prayer as a time capsule, Janis! You’re a blessing, Nina
You are most welcome Nina.
May it be used to bless others.
Blessings,
Janis
Wow, you’ve taken on quite a bit–the reading and the newsletter…but it sounds like the Lord is blessing it. May God bless you as you seek His guidance!
Yes it might be too much but I keep praying and God keeps giving me the time. That newsletter is my goal for tomorrow. So hopefully you will see it soon. And yes – I as seeking His guidance.
Blessings,
Janis
May we always yield to His will so that He can do a mighty work through us! His strength is made perfect in our weakness. Thanks for the beautiful post & for hosting, & God bless!
Laurie,
Yielding – great word. Giving Him the go ahead and do His will.
Blessings,
Janis
