Sunday Stillness – What is REST?
This has been on my mind for some time. What is REST? Last Wednesday I found out. I think it means to spend some quality time with God.
R – Restore
E – Everything
S – Sit
T – Tight
I had trouble doing this the past few weeks. On Wednesday, I still had trouble but had the time to persevere – until I heard that quiet voice with some answers. I loved Oswald Chambers from August 5.
A Christian is one who trusts the wits and the wisdom of God, and not his own wits (Oswald Chambers, My Utmost for His Highest, August 5)
If I am going to trust in His wits, then I have to be close to Him, listen to Him and follow His directions.
Tweetable:
Are you trusting in your wits or God’s? REST in Him. (click to tweet)

Yep. That’s what resting is all about. 🙂
We all need to take your lead, Janis, and make time to rest–especially with the Lord. Our culture is so fast-paced that I think we need this more than ever! Thanks for the linkup, my friend!
Thanks so much for hosting!
Wonderful quote, I am so grateful you shared it. May you have a blessed vacation, full of rest & good times. Blessings!
Oh boy, did I ever need to read that quote from Oswald Chambers! I’ve been leaning heavy on God’s wisdom as we make this big move/transition, but it’s all too easy to fall back into trying to reason things out on my own.
REST….yes! I too have struggled but once in the Word….what joy and peace! Great reminder Janis!
I love My Utmost for His Highest! Thanks for the reminder to be still. Thanks for hosting & God bless!
Oh, that’s lovely. Enjoy your vacation, Janis!
Thank you for the Chambers quote — and blessings on your vacation! Get lots of rest and have lots of fun!
Janis, your nature picture and acrostic are both lovely.
Blessings on your holiday ~ Wendy
