What Do You Say? – Thank you.

What Do You Say? – Thank you.

Last weekend we held a community garage sale. My granddaughter who is 6 was visiting us. She wanted to sell lemonade and her copies of her “books”.

We set up the lemonade stand and book table beside Grandma’s. She had a wonderful time, sold some books and lots of lemonade.

Every time as someone said, “That was wonderful lemonade” or “Oh that lemonade was delicious”, I waited for her to say those special words.

But I had to say these words to her: “What do you say?”

“Thank you”, she replied.

Are we like that? Do we have blessings overflowing but do we need someone to remind us:

“What do you say?”

Practice praising and thanking Me [Jesus] continuously through the day (Jesus Calling).  (Click to Tweet this)

We all need reminders. The Bible is full of them.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name (Psalm 100:4, NIV).

Here are some suggestions to help us remember to say our thanks to God:

        1. Read One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp
        2. Read Wonderstruck by Margaret Feinberg
        3. Start a Gifts Journal – start counting each day
        4. Make a Gratitude Box
        5. Follow Can I Joy Dare You?

Prayer:

Lord, we do thank You for all the blessings you bestow on us. We are sorry that we forget to say those little words – thank You. Help us learn to be more grateful as we strive to remember this simple little thing. In Jesus’ name. AMEN.

  1. Such a good thought Jan. I do always thank people where ever I am. Good manners were drummed into me as a child. With your influence in your grand daughter’s life she will learn to draw close to God and be thankful for His hand upon her life.

I love to connect with you.
