Creative Tuesdays – A bouquet
This week the challenge was to take the flower we created from last week and add it to a bouquet.
Here is last week’s flower – a carnation.
And this week here is my bouquet.
Of course I had to look up verses about flowers. I thought about the short life of cut flowers. Even though I kept this bouquet for 2 weeks using ice cubes they still died. Our enjoyment of them is fleeting.
I thought then about life and how fleeting it is too.
O Lord, make me know my end
and what is the measure of my days;
let me know how fleeting I am (Ps 39:4, ESV)!
Being Easter week this tied all together. Death/Life
Here is a poem I wrote about Easter
Choose Life
We have a choice, not like the flower
We were doomed to die – the end
But by God’s grace,
Jesus made a way for us to live – the beginning
In Jesus we have the way
– an open door to life
– salvation through grace
Jesus died – but rose again
To open that door for us
To be with God forever.
That’s the Gospel – The Good News of Easter
Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel (2 Timothy 1:10, NIV).
I tell you the truth, whoever hears my words and believes in him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned. He has crossed over from death to life (John 5:24, NIV).
Flowers cannot choose. We can. It will involve decisions and life changes and making right choices.
It reminds me of a song we sang last year in VBS – Choose Jesus. Here it is for you to enjoy.
I am joining Creative Tuesdays – please drop over and see other art pieces with this theme.
I also joined Paint Party Friday for the first time today.
