Sunday Stillness – Who are you tied to?
The other day I read:
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Mathew 11:28-29, NIV).
I looked at that verse again. Jesus asks us to pick up His yoke; then He asks us to learn from Him.
As you can see from my picture, the yoke is made of two places to be held.
One would be for Jesus and one would be for me. That is closeness, isn’t it? Then we can work together. I thought about that. As He would move, I would move. As He stopped, I stopped. We could talk close together. I could hear His voice.
No wonder I would find peace and rest with Him beside me.
This week let’s take on that yoke. Let’s truly PACE ourselves. (tweet this)

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for telling me again and again that You are tied to me. As I let You take the lead, I always feel at rest and peace. You are the LEADER. I am the follower. Help me to P.A.C.E. myself. I don’t need to be in control and to know the outcomes. I only need to share in Your wisdom and love to find joy in living. In Jesus’ name. AMEN.
Remember to always put on the yoke of Jesus , not just to relieve the weight but to allow His direction. When Jesus is joined with us by the yoke, He is driving. Let Him drive.
Today is Sunday Stillness.

Ah, P.A.C.E. is perfect. Missing your Creative Tuesdays’ piece. I know you’re away. 🙂
Hi Tracy,
I made it for Creative Tuesdays. Thanks for thinking of me. Let’s encourage one another in our study of God’s Word and in our art and in our writing.
Blessings,
Janis
I love this! That verse speaks to me so often! It’s such a great reminder to stay in step with Him!
Karrilee,
Welcome! Thank you and yes I too much remember not to go ahead of Him, either.
Blessings,
Janis
Thanks for the reminder to “take His yoke upon us” for when we do that, our load is so much lighter. He really does give peace and rest.
Gayl,
Oh He does give us peace and rest, doesn’t he? I love to know that others can feel this peace too.
Blessings,
Janis
Perfectly aligned to Christ’s expectations…these words are so simple yet so powerful, Janet. YES !! Let’s all PACE ourselves as we run this RACE…Blessings and hugs to you this Sunday. Thanks for the linkup.
Sheila,
Thanks for coming by with your kind words. I have to remember my own words as I work to finish loose ends.
Blessings,
Janis
Peace, peace and BREATHE… 🙂
May we let Him set the pace and follow in step. Thanks for hosting & God bless.
Laurie,
After returning from a writers’ conference I wanted to “do it all”. But I remembered my own words – one thing at a time. That’s why I am late with comments.
Blessings,
Janis
P.A.C.E.
I’ll be remembering these words this week and trusting for grace to pace myself according to His leading.
Blessings, Janis.
Michele,
I tell those words to myself as well. Pacing ourselves is very important in order to hear God.
Blessings,
Janis
