Best Bake Off Ever – Creative Tuesdays

Best Bake Off Ever – Creative Tuesdays

This week on Creative Tuesdays Michael’s challenge is “baked goodness”. As I thought about this challenge I realized that as a Christian I have this “baked goodness” every time I take communion.  Michael gave us a link to the Great British Bake Off. And I see our communion as the Best Bake Off Ever.

Best Bake Off Ever

During Lent I have been reading through Mark as we head towards Easter. One of the passages is Mark 14:22. Before Jesus was crucified He ate the Last Supper with His disciples. At that time this is what we read:

While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take it; this is my body.”

And then He went on to take the cup in Mark 14:23-24.

Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, and they all drank from it.

“This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many,” he said to them.

The wine and the bread – a banquet for us. This is “baked goodness” at its best.

Communion – The Best Bake Off Ever

It is free for everyone.
It will save your life.
It is satisfying.

Here is a recipe for Unleavened Bread for Communion (from allrecipes.com)

1 cup flour
1/3 cup oil
1/8 tsp sale
1/3 cup water

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
Line a baking sheet with Parchment paper.
Mix the dry ingredients, Add the wet.
Form dough – 6 balls
Make them into disks on the parchment paper
Bake for 8-10 minutes.

Since I don’t eat any grains here is a recipe that is Paleo friendly.

This is the beginning of week four of my blogging holiday. Praying for God to show me the way He wants me to go.

So grateful to Jesus for revealing Himself to me, for my confession, for my accepting Him as Lord and Saviour of my life.

if you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9, NIV UK).

Under the Cover of Prayer is now on this website. UTCOP will start again on Tuesday May 13, 2014. Guests will be posting every Tuesday and Thursday. All my subscribers have been successfully moved over to this site. Thanks to WordPress.com for a smooth move.

On this website I will be posting only what God is revealing to me – in other words how my conversation (prayer) is coming along. Join me as we learn together.

Read the Sunday Stillness rules if you are new here.

I would appreciate if you would link only about God’s Word. If you have a linky party that’s okay if it is about the same thing. Please no sales or prizes. I want this to be friendly but I must ask you to abide by the rules. Others want to read God’s Word – and that is what I would like the links to be about. I must take down the links that don’t follow the rules. Thanks so much.
