Creative Saturdays – Fingerpaint Tadeo Turtle
I felt like getting into the paint today. I didn’t have any store bought fingerpaint so I went online and found many recipes. I decided to try the flour and water. I also didn’t have any food colouring left. So I did use store bought tempera paint. This type is not something you would want to put near your mouth although is says “non-toxic”.
So this fingerpaint recipe only uses flour and water – equal parts. And then food colouring.
Next add food colouring.. or store bought paints. I only use the primary colours and mix to get the other colours. So yellow, blue and red.
Mix around until blended.
You are ready to fingerpaint. I like to mix paint on the paper. As I add blue to the yellow I get green. I did use fingerpaint paper. I like the feel of it sliding around and it doesn’t bleed through.
I continued to paint and mix the colours. I loved the feel of this paint. I did have to wash my hands to take the pictures.
And here is the finished master piece. Lots of fun and I will do fingerpainting again.
Experiment with different types of homemade finger paints. Here are some of the ones I found online.
