Sunday Stillness – Jesus Calling -08/26
So many times in the past few weeks God is reminding me of His Peace. Last week I drew a picture of a dove and this reminds me that He is our Peace.
Oswald Chambers said:
Look up and receive the undisturbedness of the Lord Jesus (Oswald Chambers, August 26).
If I focus on the problem I can obliterate God. (tweet this)
Jesus told us to let not our hearts be troubled. (John 14:1)
So I need to do exactly what I read in Jesus Calling – detach from the disturbances around me.
Why, my soul, are you downcast?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God (Psalm 42:11, NIV).
Please find time to detach from your world around you. Seek Jesus right now – find His Peace so you can relax and not let the circumstances touch your spirit.

Read the Sunday Stillness rules if you are new here.
I would appreciate if you would link only about God’s Word. If you have a linky party that’s okay if it is about the same thing. Please no sales or prizes. I want this to be friendly but I must ask you to abide by the rules. Others want to read God’s Word – and that is what I would like the links to be about. I must take down the links that don’t follow the rules. Thanks so much.

Yet, in the midst of all that, Jesus was peaceful, calm, focused, and confidently following God’s will.
Just back. It was lovely to detach from the noises of the world – clamouring for input. I enjoyed each and every minute. Thanks to all for your kind comments.
Blessings,
Janis
Isn’t it hard to detach from the *NOISE* of the outside world?! I find it so necessary, though. God spoke to Elijah in a whisper – and I want to be quiet enough to always hear the still, small voice.
GOD BLESS!
I love taking time to get away from all the distractions, read God’s Word, converse with the Lord, and write in my journal. Thanks for sharing and reminding us that we need to do this regularly. Praying you are having safe and enjoyable travels.
Thanks for hosting Sunday Stillness, Linda. I pray you are having a fruitful trip.
*Receive the undisturbness of the Lord* – I’ll carry these Words in my Heart – thank you, Janis!
Love that suggestion. Detach from the disturbances. Detach from the noise, the negativity. So important to read and think this as I seek a quiet spirit. Thank you for sharing, Janis!
Praise God that He is all we need, and that we can cast all our cares on Him! Thanks for hosting, travel safely, & God bless!
