Do We Know For Certain Heaven is Home for Us?
by Mary Haskett
This morning I planned to visit Jean Darling in her hospital room, but my pastor called to say she had gone to heaven.
I recall one day when I visited, she had just recovered from a bout of pneumonia, and at 94, years old that was quite something. We sat in the lounge and talked. I said to Jean, “Your sister told me, you were quite ill last week Jean.”
“Yes,” she said, “I really thought I was going home to heaven.”
“I guess the Lord said, not yet Jean,” I responded.
“True,” she quipped, “and he has said that several times lately.” We both laughed, and I marveled at this saint of God who served on the mission field in India for a 40 year span.
Do we know with a certainty that heaven is home for us?
If we have accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour and
indeed if we live for Him, then we too will have a place in heaven.

Remember how Jesus promised:
“In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” (John 14:2 , KJV)
Prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus, How grateful I am for the provisions you have made for me. I pray to be ever focused and true to you in all I do and say. Amen.
