Keep Calm with Faith

My Cancer Journey

If you have been following me on my breast cancer journey, this poem about keeping calm was written early in my diagnosis. Tomorrow, I am booked for surgery. My faith has continued to keep me calm and in touch with Jesus.

Calm
Peace in a Kayak by Janis Cox

I have chosen to write in an abecedarian form of poetry because it helps my thoughts flow. Using each letter of the alphabet I choose a word or phrase.

I would love to know if you have tried writing poetry this abecedarian way.

The scripture I chose was from my study that morning. The idea of faith being able to fan into flame gifts of the Spirit inspires me to continue writing and painting. I also feel calm.

I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.
For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.

2 Timothy 1:5-6 (NIV)

Faith is developed through use.
Prayer and reading the Bible are my morning routine.

Faith in God

How I Keep Calm

Any
Belief
Can
Die
Even
Faith in God

Hatred
Insists on
Justice (man’s not God’s)

Keeps
Love
Muted

Not allowing
Peace
Quiet, calm and
Rest to

See the
Truth and
Unveil His
Voice

Which
EXpresses His
Yearning and
Zeal for me and you.
